The attitude of Malaysians towards animal welfare is changing, slowly but surely. Yet, orangutans from those struggling to survive in the wild to those in captivity, need our help.
Friends of the Orangutans is one of the most active groups in Malaysia and we need volunteers for various projects which require tasks including:
1. Running and maintaining planned orangutan campaigns
2. Planning & preparation of orangutan enrichment programmes.
3. Raising awareness regarding the use and effect of palm oil on orangutans
4. Investigations
5. Communicating with the press, wildlife department, zoos, et cetera
6. Fundraising
7. Website and social media maintenance
8. Other necessary administration tasks
As a fresh Malaysian orangutan group especially looking to empower locals, we welcome Malaysians to join us in protecting our orangutans. You can volunteer even if you aren’t Malaysian.
